Hi, I’m Dave Frost, originally from Gloucester, I moved to Desborough in 1994 after spending 26 years in the RAF, doing an Aircraft Engineering apprenticeship followed by a career maintaining Harriers, Buccaneers and Phantoms. I joined the Services Club the following year and within a few months ended up on the board as the token ex-serviceman! Other than one short break I’ve been involved ever since. In that time I was Entertainment secretary for many years, organising Friday and Saturday entertainment and Sunday Quiz nights, spent a couple of years as Secretary / Treasurer when I computerised the clubs bookkeeping and records, and am now President as well as a Trustee. Outside the club I have my own business working as an engineering consultant/contractor in the aerospace, defence and renewable energy sectors. As well as being on the board of the Services Club, I am vice-president of the spiritualist church in Kettering and help run that as well, and on the aircraft engineering side I keep my “hand in” by helping look after the ex RAF Buccaneer in the “Cold War Jets” collection at Bruntingthorpe which is maintained in full running order. I am married with two sons, one in Kettering, one in Devon, nine grandchildren and a great-grandson, so lots to keep me busy……
Hi, I'm Steve, having been a local lad all of my life, born in Rothwell and now living in Desborough for the last 8 years, I joined the Services Club and became involved in the club activities such as bingo and entertainment. During that time I learnt that the club has a heart to it and decided to join the board in 2015 and becoming the club Chairman in 2019. Having run (and still doing) the Sunday night bingo myself and initially with my good friend and former board member Simon Goodliffe started the 'Fatboy and Slim Disco' (guess which one I am?!!). More recently 'Slim' has been replaced by my son Joseph. This has become a great success in bringing the community together on our Fundays, garden parties and evening disco's exclusively for the club.
Outside of the club, my full-time work is within the print industry as a Product Support specialist - I have worked with the same company for 21 years now. When I'm not working or at the club, I work part-time in the fun fair industry.
I'm a family man with 3 adult children and a grandson who also keep me forever busy.
I’m Jason, I’ve been on the board since March 2018 originally as the Entertainment & PR Officer but have since taken on the role of Treasurer, it's my job to make sure that club is running in the most profitable way possible and to maximise on opportunities to further the growth of the club I am a qualified Accountant and have over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry working as an Analyst and Project Manager helping businesses make the most of their potential. I’m also an Ambassador for a charity that is very close to my heart. I have a lot of experience in organising large scale charity events raising large amounts of money along the way for good causes. I’ve lived in Desborough since 2011 and have a young family that love the club. In my spare time, I like to go fishing, watch cricket and spend time with my young sons.
I host a monthly quiz at the club which is now becoming established and I also captain the pool team.
The club means a huge amount to me and I will always do my absolute best to ensure our customers enjoy their time spent at our club.
Hi, I'm Tish....
Hi, I’m Dave Ward, I’m originally from Peterborough (when it was still in Northamptonshire!) but have lived in Desborough for the past 20+ years. I like to think I’m quite well known through working at B&Q in Kettering and before that at Jollyes pet supercentre. I try to assist at the towns community events like the Carnival and the 1940's days as well as being a club regular most weekends. Always ready to hear any comments concerning the club, and progress further if action is required. So please don't be afraid to approach me and ask any questions.
Hi I’m Amanda....... I've been on the board since March 2020 although the COVID-19 pandemic stopped me from formally getting involved until a few months later. My job involves ensuring that the club has a footprint in the social media circles and ensuring that the club receives positive exposure.
I work at the local Co-operative as a Customer Service Assistant and in my spare time I like to watch crime documentaries and spend time with my children .and my grandson.
